ABOUT-CONNECTICUT

Montana

Connecticut is famous for its stunning fall foliage, cultural legacy, and manufacturing prowess. The state is named after the Connecticut River, which roughly bisects the state. Connecticut is derived from the anglicized forms of Quinnetuket, a Mohegan-Pequot name meaning a long tidal river. The earliest European residents in Connecticut were Dutchmen who founded a small, short-lived colony called House of Hope in Hartford, near the junction of the park and Connecticut rivers.
