Vicksburg National Military Park

Vicksburg National Park is famous for one of the most decisive Civil War battles, the campaign, siege, and defense of Vicksburg. The park includes 1325 historic monuments and markers and 20 miles of historic trenches and earthworks. Vicksburg National Park preserves the site of the American Civil War principal battle of Vicksburg, waged from March 29 to July 4. The park, located in Mississippi, also commemorates the greater campaign that led up to the battle.

Biloxi

Biloxi is a municipality in Harrison County, Mississippi. It is the primary city in the Gulfport-Biloxi metropolitan area. The beachfront of Biloxi lies directly on the Mississippi Sound, with barrier islands scattered off the coast and in the Gulf of Mexico. The name Biloxi in French was a transliteration of the term for the local native American tribe in their language.The area now known as Biloxi was first established around Fort Louis in 1720, and the administrative headquarters of French Louisiana was relocated from Mobile to Biloxi. Natchez Trace Parkway

Natchez Trace Parkway is a national parkway in the southwestern United States. Its central feature is a two-lane road that extends 444 miles from Natchez, Mississippi, to Nashville, Tennessee. For over 10,000 years, the Natchez Trace Travel Corridor has served as a means of transportation, trade, change, conflict, and communication. It is now recognized as a constructed landscape, making the Natchez Trace the only national parkway that commemorates an ancient travel route.

Mississippi Civil Rights Museum Eight galleries chronicle the events of the national civil rights movement that took place in Mississippi. The Mississippi Civil Rights Museum shares with the Museum of Mississippi History a building situated in historic Le Fleur’s Bluff, overlooking the state fairgrounds to the east and facing Jackson's old city center to the west. The museum is a large, landscaped plaza at the center of the block, which is a sloping lawn facing a stage at the south end, providing an area for outdoor performances, concerts, and festivals.

Throughout the year, the temperature ranges typically from 35°F to 91°F, rarely falling below 22°F or rising over 97°F.
