Silver Dollar City

Silver Dollar City opened on May 1, 1960. The park is an 1880s-themed park and is internationally awarded. The park is open from March to December during the working season. The park is situated on Missouri Route 76 on the Indian Point peninsula of Table Rock Lake. The silver dollar city began as a re-creation of the mining town that once stood at the mouth of Marvel Cave, which is located beneath the park and has nearly sixty years of history as one of the top tourist destinations in the state. The Silver Dollar City campground features campsites, RV sites, trailer rentals, handcrafted rustic log cabins, etc. This camp is located just over 1 mile from Silver Dollar City on State Highway 265.

The Nelson-Atkins Museum

The founder of the museum is William Rockhill Nelson. The Nelson Atkins Museum is one of the finest general art museums in the United States. The museum currently maintains collections of over 40,000 works of art. The museum’s outstanding feature is its collection of Asian arts. The museum’s collection has included European paintings, ancient Egyptian sculpture, Japanese porcelain and lacquer, English pottery, and American photography. The museum is situated on 20 acres in south Kansas City. The museum is ranked 10th among the best architectural marvels, considering candidates from around the globe.

City Museum

The city museum has been named one of the great public spaces by the project for public spaces. The City Museum was founded by artist Bob Cassilly and his wife, Gali Cassilly.
