ABOUT NEW MEXICO

Montana

The states bordering New Mexico are Colorado to the north, Oklahoma and Texas to the east, Mexico to the south, and Arizona to the west. Its northwest corner is the only point where four states unite, touching Arizona, Utah, and Colorado. Being part of the American Southwest, New Mexico is familiar with the "Old West" heritage of cowboys, cattle drives, and conflicts between pioneers and Native Americans. New Mexico does, in fact, still have a lot of the frontier flavor, from the vast expanse of its portion of the Great Plains to the rugged, weather-worn peaks of its mountain ranges.
